Welcome to Acorn a unique and exciting programme for adults with Special Needs in the area of Mental Impairments. The producers at Acorn have undergone a through training in the area of competitive production and are extremely proud to show off their work which includes extra ordinary yet simple jewelry and unique basketry.

The baskets are woven by a combination of women in difficult circumstances together with the producers at Acorn. The plastic bags are collected from various designated points and brought to the center for cleaning and cutting. The recycled paper is then combined with sisal and lots of patience and creativity in the decorations using a wide range of materials.

Each piece is different based on the producers’ creativity. Our products are for those that shun mass production and value unique rare pieces. Therefore, as you make your purchase, please bear in mind the price is not only for the aesthetic value, but goes a long way towards providing economic empowerment for the producers and supporting the sustainability of the workshop.
